Madonnari Festival brings chalk art back to Puerto Vallarta today

The Madonnari Festival returns to Puerto Vallarta for its 13th year, bringing chalk art back to the streets of downtown, an event organized by the committee of sister cities Puerto Vallarta-Santa Bárbara, in coordination with the City Council.

The inscriptions and activities begin this Friday until Sunday, November 11 in the side corridors of the municipal presidency, as well as in the Plaza de Armas.

In this edition, there will be categories for children, junior, youth and adults, and there will be no registration fee for people and artists who wish to participate, who will be provided with chalks needed to participate.

As in previous years, artists from different states of the country participate in the annual festival, Puerto Vallarta is the first city in Mexico to participate in the international art event.

In addition to promoting art and culture, this event also promotes Puerto Vallarta, and the winning artist participates in the event that takes place in Santa Barbara, California, United States.

Madonnari has already become a tradition in the city and is an added value of the twinning with Santa Bárbara; an annual artistic promotion event for local values, and an inspirational opportunity for children and young people.

The president of the Committee of Sister Cities Puerto Vallarta – Santa Bárbara, María Elena Sahagún, announced that 115 artists participated in the event last year, so this time it is expected to have a greater number of artists.
