Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In a comprehensive move to safeguard both vacationers and local residents, Puerto Vallarta’s Civil Protection and Firefighters have announced the deployment of at least 190 officers and 28 specialized units for the upcoming Holy Week and Easter holiday period. The strategy, unveiled by Misael López Muro, the director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, aims to ensure a secure environment throughout the busy season running from Sunday, April 13th to Sunday, April 27th.
“We have a force of 190 personnel who will be working this season. We won’t have any breaks, we won’t have vacations. We’ll be scheduling shifts so we can have people on all the beaches, on all the rivers, and throughout the municipality to safeguard the safety of our residents and everyone who visits us,” López Muro emphasized during the presentation of the holiday strategy.
To bolster their efforts, the team will be supported by around 40 vehicles, ranging from jet skis and a boat to ATVs, RZRs, pickup trucks, water pump trucks, a tanker truck, and six ambulances. This comprehensive fleet is set to cover extensive terrain, ensuring a swift response in various areas across the municipality.
The Civil Protection plan outlines specific areas of focus, including popular beaches, rivers, the tourist belt, and mountain regions. Additionally, urban and rural areas will not be overlooked. “We have the seawall area, the main avenues, where we also need to be very alert to any situation that may arise, as well as all the places where people are setting up camp,” López Muro added, highlighting the critical locations for heightened vigilance.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to stay informed through the agency’s social media channels, which will provide timely updates and important announcements throughout the holiday period. López Muro also urged the public to follow the instructions of Civil Protection personnel and adhere to the designated signage and flag colors on the beaches, ensuring a coordinated and safe experience for everyone.
With the increased presence of security forces and a well-coordinated operational strategy, Puerto Vallarta is setting the stage for a safe and enjoyable holiday period, demonstrating its commitment to public safety during one of the busiest times of the year.
