Your support matters to local media

PVDN is an independent local news publisher partly funded by the community we serve, our readers, and newsletter subscribers. If you believe in the importance of independent news and local coverage, please take a moment to consider supporting us as a PVDN Supporter for less than .07 cents a day, or a one-time donation to support local media. Any amount can make a huge difference in local media.

How is your contribution used?

Your contribution to PVDN helps with two main functions of local news:

  • Contributions are used to hire LOCAL writers to provide better content.
  • Contributions will allow PVDN to display less advertising, making your experience on our website better. (our goal in 2021 is to become ad-free with your support)
  • Contributions help pay for operating costs (web server, newsletter delivery, internet, lights, etc.)

PVDN launched on April 5, 2014, by founder Christopher (Ian) LaGrone. Now, after seven years of operating as a one-man publication, Ian has launched a crowdfunding initiative to grow PVDN, employ more writers, offer better content, and manage the area’s most-read news for Puerto Vallarta. Every donation and subscription to PVDN Supporter helps achieve the goals of growth and better content for you!

PVDN is the most read English news in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Although we are a popular local source for news, the Puerto Vallarta market is small and narrow, so website traffic doesn’t translate into large enough advertising revenue to cover the costs of operation like other websites with similar readership in a larger market. So public support is one of the ways we continue to offer independent local news from Puerto Vallarta.
