Pancho’s Takos Lands in Michelin Guide 2026

Puerto Vallarta Taquería Lands in Michelin Guide 2026

A taco restaurant in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica has entered the Michelin Guide Mexico 2026 selection, placing the city inside Jalisco’s first year in the guide. The recognition does not award a Michelin star. The establishment appears as a recommended restaurant, while the state’s star awards went to restaurants in Guadalajara. The listing still gives Puerto Vallarta a name in a national guide, often associated with larger dining markets.

Pancho’s Takos Lands in Michelin Guide 2026

Pancho’s Takos has been included in the Michelin Guide Mexico 2026 selection, giving Puerto Vallarta a restaurant listing in Jalisco’s first year inside the guide.

The restaurant, located on Basilio Badillo in the Zona Romántica, appears to be recommended. It did not receive a Michelin star or a Bib Gourmand distinction.

Michelin uses separate categories for starred restaurants, Bib Gourmand selections, and recommended restaurants. Pancho’s Takos falls into the recommended category.

The Michelin listing places Pancho’s Takos among Jalisco restaurants recognized in the 2026 guide. The guide identifies the restaurant as Mexican and lower priced. It lists the address as Basilio Badillo 162, Zona Romántica, Emiliano Zapata.

The guide also notes that credit cards are not accepted. Diners should bring cash.

The listing adds a local taquería to a guide that often highlights chef-led restaurants and higher-end dining rooms. In this case, the city’s entry is a taco restaurant on one of the busiest streets in the Zona Romántica.

Guadalajara took the star awards in Jalisco

Jalisco’s Michelin star awards went to Xokol and Alcalde, both in Guadalajara. Xokol also received a Green Star recognition.

Puerto Vallarta appeared elsewhere in the state’s Michelin results through Icú, which received a Bib Gourmand distinction. That category is used for restaurants recognized for quality cooking at moderate prices.

Pancho’s Takos was listed among Jalisco’s Michelin recommendations, alongside restaurants in Guadalajara and La Huerta. The category does not carry the same weight as a star, but it is part of the guide’s official Mexico selection.

The inclusion gives Puerto Vallarta a place in the Michelin Guide Mexico 2026, following the addition of Jalisco, Puebla, and Yucatán to the guide’s coverage.
