Southwest Applies for Denver to Puerto Vallarta Flight

Southwest Airlines plans to run daily, nonstop flights out of Denver International Airport to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, officials announced Tuesday.

Southwest on Tuesday submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the service. If Southwest gains the necessary regulatory approvals, the Dallas-based carrier plans to start service between Denver International Airport ( DEN) and Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport ( PVR) in November.

Puerto Vallarta is Southwest's fourth destination in Mexico. The carrier also flies to Cancun, Mexico City and San Jose del Cabo.
