Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Sept. 28, 2026 — Puerto Vallarta will host the 2026 HEAT Latin Music Awards on Nov. 5, bringing the music ceremony to Mexico for the first time.
The gala is scheduled for the Centro Internacional de Convenciones de Puerto Vallarta, or CICPV, following HEAT Week activities in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.
The official HEAT announcement says the week will run from Oct. 31 through Nov. 5. The awards ceremony will stream live on LosHeat.tv.
Local impact around Villa Las Flores
For Puerto Vallarta, the event will place much of the gala activity away from the Malecón and traditional beachfront entertainment districts.
The Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center is at Av. Paseo de Las Flores 505 in Villa Las Flores, near Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport and the city’s main bus terminal.
The facility says its Gran Salón Vallarta provides 5,000 square meters of column-free space and can be divided into eight halls. Its published specifications list capacity for up to 5,500 attendees, along with parking for 645 cars and 50 buses.
That location puts the Nov. 5 event within Puerto Vallarta’s airport and convention corridor rather than the Centro or Zona Romántica.
PVDN reviewed the current event and venue information on Monday. The official pages did not list street closures, special public transportation arrangements, or a detailed arrival plan for the gala.
The convention center’s own HEAT event listing currently gives Oct. 30 as the beginning of HEAT Week. HEAT organizers and Jalisco tourism authorities list Oct. 31. The Nov. 5 gala date is consistent across the official sources reviewed by PVDN.
Awards arrive during Jalisco’s events push
The HEAT ceremony is also part of a wider state effort to use major events to support tourism outside traditional vacation travel.
Jalisco tourism officials included the HEAT awards in the state’s late-2026 events calendar when promoting Jalisco at IBTM Americas, a meetings-and-events industry gathering.
That calendar also includes hospitality, culinary and sporting events in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.
The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board’s event information says HEAT Week will include music, cultural and gastronomic activities before the Nov. 5 ceremony.
Activities are planned in both Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, meaning the awards are being organized as a statewide program rather than a single-night Vallarta show.
Karol G leads newly announced nominations
The Puerto Vallarta ceremony took shape last week when HEAT released nominees across 30 categories.
According to the organizers’ Sept. 24 announcement, Karol G leads with 10 nominations. Bad Bunny has nine, while Carlos Rivera and Shakira each have seven.
Carín León, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Grupo Frontera, Elena Rose and Rosalía each received six nominations.
This year’s awards also introduce a Best Regional Mexican Artist category. The nominees include Christian Nodal, Grupo Firme, Grupo Frontera, Fuerza Regida, Carín León, Alejandro Fernández, Banda MS and Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda.
Public voting opened Sept. 24 through the LosHeat.tv application. Organizers say users may vote once every 24 hours in each category until Oct. 15.
“Jalisco opened its home to us,” HEAT CEO Diana Montes said in the organizers’ announcement, which PVDN translated from Spanish.
Caroline Aquino, Karime Pindter, Yohana Vargas, Ignacio Baladán, La Segura and Dímelo King will host the ceremony, according to HEAT.
Puerto Vallarta becomes the awards’ first Mexican host
The Nov. 5 ceremony will mark the first Mexican edition of the HEAT Latin Music Awards.
The Jalisco tourism agency’s event page confirms the Puerto Vallarta convention center as the gala venue and places the broader program between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.
The awards began in 2015 and spent much of their early history in the Dominican Republic before holding the 2025 ceremony in Medellín, Colombia.
For Puerto Vallarta, the event adds an international entertainment production to a convention center normally associated with conferences, exhibitions, and large institutional gatherings.
