Puerto Vallarta weather starts warm and humid on Thursday, with rain expected to build later in the day after a partly sunny morning along Banderas Bay.
The forecast for June 11 calls for a high near 30°C (86°F) and an overnight low around 25°C (77°F). Rain is most likely during the afternoon and evening, after clouds thicken over the bay and the mountains.
Early conditions were muggy, with light wind and high humidity before sunrise, according to the latest Puerto Vallarta weather forecast. The day is not expected to begin as a washout, but the afternoon could turn wet quickly.
Rain risk increases after midday
People heading to the beach, airport, marina area, Romantic Zone, or hillside neighborhoods should plan around a changing sky. Light clothing still makes sense, but an umbrella or rain jacket belongs in the bag today.
Mexico’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional has kept Jalisco in the wider rain pattern affecting western and central Mexico this week. Some storms in the region may bring lightning and gusty winds.
Beach and bay conditions
Banderas Bay should begin the day with usable beach hours before the higher risk of rain develops. The better window is the morning and early afternoon, before darker clouds start building inland.
Anyone planning boat trips, fishing, diving, or small-craft outings should check the Mexican Navy’s port status portal before leaving. Port conditions can change faster than a general city forecast when rain, swell, or wind increases.
PVDN’s Puerto Vallarta Hurricane Center tracks Pacific systems and local hurricane-season risks. Hurricane season is underway, but no active tropical development is expected near Puerto Vallarta today.
The National Hurricane Center said Thursday morning, “Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days,” for the eastern and central North Pacific.
Another wet day likely Friday
Rain remains in the forecast for Friday, with temperatures again near 30°C (86°F) during the day and 25°C (77°F) overnight.
That keeps Puerto Vallarta in a typical early rainy-season pattern. Mornings may still offer useful outdoor time, but late-day plans should stay flexible until this wetter stretch breaks.
