Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, June 30, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta started Tuesday warm and humid, with passing clouds and a current temperature near 26°C, or 79°F, as of 6:21 a.m. local time. The latest airport weather station report, issued at 5:44 a.m., showed humidity at 89%, a light northeast wind near 5 km/h, or 3 mph, and a feels-like temperature near 28°C, or 82°F.
The day’s point forecast calls for a high near 34°C, or 93°F, and an overnight low near 26°C, or 78°F. Conditions can change quickly during rainy season, especially if storms form over the mountains and move toward the bay later in the day.
Morning Conditions in Puerto Vallarta
Early conditions are warm, sticky, and mostly manageable for errands, airport runs, and outdoor plans. Visibility was reported near 13 kilometers, or 8 miles, at the Puerto Vallarta airport weather station.
The main discomfort today is humidity rather than extreme heat. By the afternoon, the temperature is expected to reach about 33°C to 34°C, or 92°F to 93°F, with the heat index closer to 41°C, or 105°F, during the warmest part of the day.
Rain Chance and Timing
Puerto Vallarta’s local forecast shows the best rain chance in the morning, with passing showers possible through late morning. The rain signal drops sharply by the afternoon, with only a slight chance listed for later in the day.
The broader regional forecast from Mexico’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional still keeps Jalisco under rainy-season monitoring, with very strong rainfall possible in parts of the state and heavy rain elsewhere in the region. That does not mean Puerto Vallarta is certain to see heavy rain, but it keeps the usual afternoon and evening storm risk in play.
Wind, Surf, and Beach Notes
Winds in the local forecast are light today, generally below 10 km/h (6 mph), which should limit wind-related issues around town and along the bay. The surf forecast for the Puerto Vallarta Rivermouth area, issued at 11 p.m. Monday, showed small nearshore swell readings mostly around 0.3 to 0.5 meters, or about 1 to 1.6 feet, with sea temperature near 30.7°C, or 87°F.
Beach conditions should still be checked on site. Rain clouds over the bay can bring lightning, sudden wind shifts, and reduced visibility even when the morning starts calmly. Swimmers should follow lifeguard flags and avoid entering the water during thunderstorms.
Roads, Heat, and Day Planning
The most useful window for outdoor errands, walking, and beach time is the morning, before the strongest heat settles in. Hydration is important today, especially for people walking long stretches in Centro, the Romantic Zone, the Hotel Zone, or Marina Vallarta.
Drivers should not expect a citywide weather disruption based on the morning forecast, but brief showers can still slow traffic on low-lying or flood-prone streets. If a storm develops later, watch the usual trouble spots near river crossings, underpasses, and streets with poor drainage.
For today, plan around heat first and rain second: use the morning for outdoor plans, keep afternoon activities flexible, and check conditions again before boating, beach time, or hillside travel.
