Popocatépetl had 302 exhalations and five explosions in the last hours

The Popocatépetl volcano monitoring systems identified 302 low intensity exhalations, accompanied by water vapor and gas and five explosions, reported the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred).

In the last 24 hours a volcanotectonic earthquake and 418 minutes of low amplitude harmonic tremor were detected.

During the Thursday night, incandescence was observed over the crater and during Friday morning a continuous emission of water vapor, gas and moderate content of ash was detected, which the winds dispersed to the northwest.

Due to the fact that the monitoring parameters remain unchanged, the Popocatepetl Volcanic Warning Semaphore continues in Yellow Phase . . .
