The main day of Vallarta Pride brought music, floats, and crowds onto Puerto Vallarta’s streets on Thursday, with the parade moving south from the Sheraton area toward the Malecón and Zona Romántica. The route ended near Lázaro Cárdenas, where the city’s Pride schedule shifted into its evening Block Party. The parade was part of Vallarta Pride 2026, held under the theme “La Nueva Era: Un Pride Muy Mexicano,” with public events continuing through the week.
Pride parade moves through Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta held its Vallarta Pride Parade on Thursday, May 21, with participants moving from the area near the Sheraton Buganvilias toward the Malecón and south into Zona Romántica.
The parade began near the Sheraton area, in front of the Estadio Municipal Agustín Flores Contreras. From there, the procession moved along the city’s main waterfront corridor before ending in Zona Romántica, near One Six One PV on Lázaro Cárdenas.
The route brought music, dancing, and decorated vehicles through some of the city’s busiest streets. The parade was one of the central events of Vallarta Pride 2026, which is running from May 17 to 24.
Evening events continued in Zona Romántica
After the parade, Pride activities continued with the Block Party on Lázaro Cárdenas. The evening event began at 6 p.m., after the parade route ended.
The Block Party included a performance by Mexican pop singer Fey, according to the event program. The party placed the evening crowd in the same part of Zona Romántica where much of the city’s Pride week activity is concentrated.
This year’s Pride theme is “La Nueva Era: Un Pride Muy Mexicano.” The schedule has included public events, nightlife programming, health-related activities, and community gatherings during the week.
Pride week continues through May 24
The parade marked the week’s busiest public event, but Vallarta Pride events continue through Sunday, May 24. Remaining activities include cultural events, drag performances, social gatherings, and other Pride-related programming in and around Zona Romántica.
The May 21 parade also followed earlier advisories about increased traffic and street closures tied to Pride week events in Centro and Zona Romántica. Movement through those areas was expected to be most affected during the main parade and evening events.
