Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, June 16, 2026 – A battery-shop employee was beaten during an armed robbery on Tuesday at a business on Calle Viena in Versalles, near Rafael Osuna. Police searched nearby streets after the report, but no arrest had been announced by Tuesday evening.
Early accounts agreed on the core facts. Two men targeted an auto-battery business, and an employee was struck during the robbery, and cash was taken from the shop.
The details that remain unclear are important for the investigation. One account reported that about 6,000 pesos were stolen and that a motorcycle escaped toward La Vena. Another reported about 8,000 pesos and said the robbers fled on foot.
Details still being reconciled
Municipal police responded after the emergency call, interviewed the injured employee, and checked the business and the surrounding area for security cameras. The case was given to the Ministerio Público, and police prepared the Informe Policial Homologado, the document that typically supports a formal case file.
PVDN did not find a public bulletin from municipal police or the Jalisco prosecutor’s office naming suspects or confirming an arrest by Tuesday evening. That leaves the case in the early stages of investigation.
A Versalles business corridor, not an isolated block
Calle Viena is inside a mixed residential and commercial area where residents, workers, and visitors move between service shops, restaurants, gyms, and apartment buildings. For nearby businesses, the relevant question now is whether cameras captured the suspects before or after the robbery.
