Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, October 16, 2026 — A broken water pipe left six Puerto Vallarta neighborhoods without service Friday, with SEAPAL estimating restoration around 8 p.m.
The failure occurred at Pavo Real and Canario in Las Aralias. According to SEAPAL’s announcement, repair crews began working on the damaged pipe, affecting these six colonias:
- Infonavit CTM
- Las Aralias
- Los Sauces
- Vida Vallarta
- Fovissste 96
- Ex Hacienda El Pitillal
For households planning dinner, washing up or an evening shower, the immediate question is when they can count on running water again. The latest published restoration estimate verified for this report is around 8 p.m. Friday. That timing depends on crews completing the repairs.
At the intersection itself, residents have raised a concern beyond the interruption to their taps. Vallarta Independiente reported residents’ accounts of a partial sidewalk collapse and a depression that neighbors said extends beneath some nearby homes.
No published Civil Protection assessment of that damage could be located during reporting. The extent of any undermining beneath homes, and whether buildings have sustained structural damage, therefore remains unconfirmed.
Residents told the outlet that water began running along the street Thursday. They said SEAPAL personnel initially inspected the problem and told them they would shut off the flow, but no repairs were made during that first visit.
Friday’s outage is separate from Thursday’s urgent interconnection work in El Pitillal. That operation involved new water lines on Francisco Villa, between 20 de Noviembre and Independencia, with restoration estimated for 4 p.m. Thursday.
The latest break also follows SEAPAL’s restoration of service after the preventive Hurricane Simon shutdown, which the utility said began Sunday afternoon. Those earlier notices concern different interruptions and should not be used to judge Friday’s repair schedule.
Residents can request updates or report continuing supply problems through SEAPAL’s official customer-service channels by calling 073 or messaging 322 105 8226 on WhatsApp.
For neighbors beside Pavo Real and Canario, the 8 p.m. target concerns the return of water. It does not establish whether the ground beside their homes is safe.
