7° Festival del Viento Riviera Nayarit

Los días 20, 21 y 22 de mayo se celebrará el 7° Festival del Viento Riviera Nayarit con sede en Bucerías. Este torneo es parte del serial de la Asociación Mexicana de Kiteboarding y es el único con validez de dos puntos por lo que es el más importante del país.

“Me da orgullo nuevamente poder ser sede de eventos como este, hemos podido ser parte de su nacimiento y entrar a su etapa de adolescencia y madurez. Estas cosas no son posibles sin el apoyo de muchos organismos y los tres niveles de gobierno, el personal la OVC que trabaja día y noche para que destaquemos con grandes eventos todo el año”, declaró el director general de la Oficina de Visitantes y Convenciones de la Riviera Nayarit, Marc Murphy.

Las actividades del Festival del Viento son la carrera DownWind, en la que todos los participantes buscan ser el primero en llegar desde La Cruz de Huanacaxtle hasta Bucerías, también el espectacular Freestyle, la carrera Long Distance, el Slalom y el Big Air.

Cada día a partir de las 12 del mediodía hasta las 19:00 horas se efectuarán las pruebas que están divididas en las categorías Juvenil, Senior, Master, Gran Master y Femenil.

Este año se espera superar los 197 participantes del 2015 y conforme las inscripciones se calculan 230 participantes provenientes de México, Estados Unidos, Canadá, Francia y otros países de América y Europa.

En cuestión deportiva el Festival del Viento está ubicado entre los mejores 20 del mundo, pero gracias a la infraestructura de Riviera Nayarit, eleva su posición a los mejores cinco del planeta.

Entre Punta de Mita y Nuevo Vallarta hay seis estaciones meteorológicas, pero la AMK está por colocar otros dos puntos el próximo mes, con la finalidad de que los deportistas que usan el viento y el mar en sus disciplinas puedan tener certeza a la hora de practicar.
