Puerto Vallarta International Airport’s full-day schedule listed 47 arrivals and 47 departures for Thursday, August 13, when the arrival board and departure board were checked at 6:59 a.m. CST.
One inbound flight and its return departure were canceled. That left 46 flights expected to operate in each direction at the morning check.
The tables below count operating flight numbers once and exclude codeshare listings that refer to the same aircraft. All times are local to Puerto Vallarta. Airport and airline boards can change throughout the day.
Arrivals scheduled through 11:17 p.m.
Thursday’s inbound program runs from Viva flight VB 1166, scheduled from Mexico City at 7:40 a.m., through Aeroméxico flight AM 340 from Mexico City at 11:17 p.m.
The board includes 36 domestic arrivals and 11 international arrivals. The international schedule has 10 flights from the United States and one WestJet flight from Calgary.
Viva flight VB 4342 from Monterrey, scheduled to arrive at 8:35 a.m., was listed as canceled.
Three other arrivals carried verified delays:
- Viva VB 1166 departed Mexico City at 6:31 a.m., 16 minutes after schedule, with arrival estimated at 7:57 a.m.
- American Airlines AA 2639 from Dallas/Fort Worth was estimated at 10:58 a.m., 18 minutes after its scheduled arrival.
- Viva VB 4344 from Monterrey was delayed by 65 minutes, moving its estimated arrival from 5:45 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.
Departures scheduled through 8:35 p.m.
The first departure, Aeroméxico AM 331 to Mexico City, left at 5:58 a.m., three minutes before its 6:01 a.m. schedule. The final listed departure is Viva VB 4349 to Monterrey at 8:35 p.m.
Viva flight VB 4343 to Monterrey, scheduled for 9:20 a.m., was canceled. It is the return segment associated with the canceled early arrival from Monterrey.
The only outbound delay verified at the morning check was Viva VB 4345 to Monterrey. Its estimated departure moved from 6:30 p.m. to 7:35 p.m., a delay of 65 minutes.
No public explanation was posted for the Viva cancellation or the listed delays. The available information does not establish whether weather, aircraft positioning, staffing, or another operational issue caused them.
Evening weather could affect later flights
PVR was operating under visual flight conditions at 5:40 a.m. The official aviation observation reported six miles of visibility, northeast wind at five knots and broken clouds at 12,000 feet.
The aviation forecast issued at 5:23 a.m. calls for light rain and variable wind developing between approximately 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Temporary thunderstorms and rain are possible between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., with visibility potentially falling to four miles.
That period overlaps six scheduled departures between 6:21 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. It also covers arrivals scheduled at 6:40 p.m. and 7:50 p.m., along with the delayed VB 4344 arrival now estimated for 6:50 p.m.
The forecast identifies a potential disruption window. It does not show that weather caused the morning cancellation or delays.
No airport-wide closure or broad operational advisory affecting PVR was identified at the time of publication. The airport operator’s flight-information page cautions that its board is based on operational data and estimates supplied by airlines.

Short travel note
Passengers on the canceled or delayed Viva flights should verify their reservation through the airline’s flight-status service before leaving for the airport. Anyone flying during the evening thunderstorm window should recheck both the airline and PVR’s official board, since “no reported delay” only describes the status at 6:59 a.m.
