Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, October 29, 2026 — SEAPAL has announced a water shutoff for Ixtapa’s Idipe and La Colonia neighborhoods on Friday, October 30, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Municipal Public Works crews will connect new water lines to the existing network on Rufino Tamayo Street. The work requires temporarily stopping the supply.
Service is expected to return gradually once the work finishes. That makes 6 p.m. the scheduled end of the interruption, but it does not guarantee that every household’s taps will immediately have normal pressure.
How should residents prepare for a day without water?
SEAPAL recommends filling rooftop tanks, known as tinacos, cisterns and containers before the interruption. Households should reserve enough for basic needs, including cooking, hygiene, and cleaning.
For example, a household planning to do laundry Friday could move that task to Thursday evening, keeping its stored water available for essential uses during the shutoff.
The utility’s water-saving guidance also recommends washing dishes in containers rather than under a running tap and turning off the shower while soaping. Those everyday choices can help a household stretch its reserve.
The work follows an earlier seven-hour interruption affecting other Ixtapa neighborhoods and Marina Vallarta on September 9. Friday’s announced shutoff specifically names Idipe and La Colonia.
Residents with questions or service problems can use SEAPAL’s official reporting channels by calling 073 or sending a WhatsApp message to 322 105 8226.
For affected households, the preparation deadline is before 9 a.m. Friday, while water is still available to store.
