Puerto Vallarta Half Marathon and 5K Set for December 6

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, November 4, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta’s half marathon and recreational 5K will take place on Sunday, December 6, with both races starting and finishing at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center.

The published race schedule lists a 6 a.m. start for the half marathon and 6:15 a.m. for the 5K. Both will start on the plaza outside the convention center at Paseo de las Flores 505 in Villa Las Flores.

Where the races will run

Race director Humberto Muñoz Vargas named Paseo de las Flores, Grandes Lagos, and Boulevard Francisco Medina Ascencio as roads on the course, according to Metrópoli Bahía’s coverage of the race presentation. He said organizers are aiming for 1,500 runners across both distances, up from 1,250 at the first edition.

If you’re heading to the airport or the central bus terminal that morning, the organizers’ course maps show where your drive could cross the race route. The race rules call for full or partial closures along the course but leave specific lane restrictions and reopening times unclear.

Vallarta has two race Sundays a few weeks apart. The November 15 half marathon and 5K are separate events that start and finish at the Agustín Flores Contreras sports complex, known locally as the stadium.

How to register and pick up your bib

The base entry fees through November 30 are 800 pesos for the half marathon and 700 pesos for the 5K, while spots last. Márcate’s online registration lists totals of 880 and 770 pesos, respectively, with the online fee. Runners can also sign up in person at Repostería Los Chatos branches or at the track at the Agustín Flores Contreras sports complex.

The half marathon is open to runners 18 and older. Children can enter the 5K if a parent runs with them, with one child per adult. The deadline to register a minor is November 30.

The official race rules suggest arriving “45 minutes before the starting gun.” For runners, the weekend starts a day earlier. The only scheduled bib pickup is Saturday, December 5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the race expo, currently set for the convention center.
