Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, November 4, 2026 – SEAPAL is seeking bids for three water and sewer projects in Puerto Vallarta, including work in El Pitillal and the north. Bids are scheduled to open November 17.
The three tender notices outline a drinking-water expansion in northern Puerto Vallarta and two packages that cover both water and sewer lines. One package includes streets in El Pitillal. The other is described more broadly as work on several streets in the municipality.
For residents, the question is what the work will mean on their block. The tender terms call for digging trenches, laying pipe and restoring cobblestone or asphalt where crews open the road. The notices give general locations. Vallarta Daily asked SEAPAL for a street-by-street list and whether the work will require lane closures, full road closures, or temporary water shutoffs. A response was pending when this story was prepared.
The bidding calendar lists contract decisions for November 23. The construction timetable in SEAPAL’s tender terms sets a proposed November 26 start for all three projects and allows 60 calendar days, through January 24.
Recent work shows how specific those notices can get. For a separate pipe connection in Ixtapa, SEAPAL named the two neighborhoods scheduled to lose water and gave residents a 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. window. For sewer work on Avenida Las Palmas, it gave drivers different detours depending on which way they were headed. For the new projects, that same level of detail would tell residents whether they need to set aside water for the day or take a different route home.
