Mexico reports over 3% mortality rate of COVID-19 infections

The death toll in Mexico from coronavirus jumped to 50 on Thursday from 37 a day earlier, the health ministry said. The number of coronavirus cases was 1,510, up by 132 cases. There are currently over 4,600 suspected cases awaiting testing.

The mortality rate from COVID-19 in Mexico stands at 3.31%, currently, the world average is 5.23%. One reason for the high rate of deaths has been Mexico's lack of testing and underreporting of cases in the country.
