Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco—From Thursday, August 1 to Saturday, August 3, 2024, Lázaro Cárdenas Park, also known as Parque de los Azulejos, will host the seventh edition of the highly anticipated Expo Tequila y Mezcal. The event promises to celebrate Mexico’s internationally renowned agave spirits, featuring more than 50 participating brands.
In a press conference held at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center on Tuesday, July 30, event organizer Constantino Macris highlighted the significance of the exhibition, noting its tradition of traveling to various tourist destinations across the country, many of which are beach locales. Macris emphasized that the event includes free cultural and promotional activities aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for these iconic spirits among locals, as well as national and international tourists.
“The participating tequila brands are artisanal and of very good quality. The intention is to promote knowledge of different tequila brands through tastings,” said Macris. “The event is free, and we do it to promote the brands. We will have a wide variety of artisanal tequilas; the goal is simply to promote tequila culture,” he added.
The Expo Tequila y Mezcal will run daily from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the official opening ceremony scheduled for Thursday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m. The event will not only feature an extensive array of tequilas and mezcals for tasting but also performances by artists such as Enrique Santana, known as “El Errante Trovador,” adding a cultural and festive dimension to the experience.
In addition to the spirit tastings, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse culinary offering from renowned local restaurants. These gastronomic delights will complement the agave spirits, enhancing the overall experience for festival-goers.
Expo Tequila y Mezcal has become a staple event for Puerto Vallarta, drawing enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to explore the rich heritage and craftsmanship behind Mexico’s beloved agave spirits. This year’s edition promises to continue the tradition of celebrating and promoting the unique flavors and stories of tequila and mezcal, solidifying their status as cultural treasures of Mexico.
