Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - A magnitude 5.8 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Jalisco early today, prompting the evacuation of at least 300 people from the Municipal Administrative Unit (UMA) in Puerto Vallarta. The tremor, which originated 223 kilometers southwest of Cihuatlán, also rattled residents of Puerto Vallarta and Cabo Corrientes, according to the state Civil Protection agency.
