Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta, led by Mayor Luis Munguía, hosted a successful beach clean-up at Boca Negra Beach in Marina Vallarta. The environmental initiative underscores the city’s ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and maintaining pristine, certified beaches.
This marked the eighth beach clean-up organized during the current administration. The event, which began at 7 a.m. and lasted over two hours, saw volunteers, local officials, and City Hall department staff come together to collect waste, including piles of debris, styrofoam cups, and straws.
Councilman Christian Omar Bravo Carbajal, President of the City Council Committee for Free, Clean, and Certified Beaches, emphasized the importance of citizen involvement in preserving Puerto Vallarta’s coastal environment. “We call on all residents and visitors to protect our beaches by refraining from littering and ensuring that waste does not end up in the ocean,” he stated.
The event garnered participation from councilors Víctor Bernal Vargas, Erika Yesenia Rubio, and Felipe Aréchiga, along with enthusiastic young volunteers and municipal staff.
Councilman Bravo Carbajal also highlighted parallel clean-up efforts in the city’s streams and rivers to minimize the environmental impact during the upcoming rainy season. “These efforts are crucial in safeguarding both our urban waterways and our beaches,” he added.
The clean-up initiative reflects Mayor Munguía’s dedication to ensuring that Puerto Vallarta remains a beacon of ecological responsibility. “This administration’s commitment to keeping our beaches clean and certified demonstrates our vision of a reborn Puerto Vallarta—clean, sustainable, and welcoming to all,” Munguía noted.
Environmental stewardship has become a hallmark of the current administration’s policies, with the eighth beach clean-up underscoring the government’s proactive approach to environmental sustainability. The participation of local residents and council members serves as a testament to the collective desire to protect the region’s natural beauty.
As Puerto Vallarta continues to grow as a top tourism destination, maintaining environmental integrity remains vital. Initiatives like these demonstrate that collaboration between government, local officials, and residents can make a meaningful difference in preserving the region’s natural resources for generations to come.
