PUERTO VALLARTA, Jalisco – The lifeless body of a man was discovered on Palmares Beach, located south of Puerto Vallarta, on Tuesday afternoon, marking another grim incident in an area where a mutilated corpse was found just last year. The discovery has raised concerns among locals and authorities, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are now underway.
The body was found around 3:30 p.m., and shortly after, authorities received a report confirming the presence of a deceased individual at the scene. Upon arrival, municipal police officers aboard unit PV-384 identified the victim as a man between 25 and 30 years old, dressed in a red shirt with grey sleeves and black trousers. His face had turned purple, likely due to the advanced state of decomposition, suggesting the body had been at the location for some time.
The man was found face down, and initial observations indicate he may have fallen from the road above the beach. However, the exact mechanics of the incident and the cause of death remain unclear. Personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office have taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the man’s death.
This incident has drawn attention not only due to its tragic nature but also because of its proximity to a similar case last year. Just a few meters from where the body was found, the mutilated remains of another man were discovered at the end of 2022. At the time, the cause of death in that case was not specified, and the investigation yielded few answers.
Local residents have expressed unease over the recurring incidents in the area, with some calling for increased security and surveillance along the beach and surrounding roads. Authorities have yet to confirm whether there is any connection between the two cases, but the proximity of the discoveries has fueled speculation.
As the investigation continues, the State Prosecutor’s Office has urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased man remains unknown, and officials are working to notify next of kin.
