Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Sept. 30, 2026 — Coral Princess canceled its Friday, Oct. 2, Vallarta call because of Hurricane Rachel, according to reporting on ASIPONA’s revised schedule. The port now lists arrivals on 20 October.
For PVDN, I reviewed ASIPONA Puerto Vallarta’s calendar, updated Sept. 30. The revised schedule contains no call on Oct. 2.
The calendar’s first October arrival is now Celebrity Summit on Sunday, Oct. 4. ASIPONA lists the ship at Pier 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A missed call for port businesses
ASIPONA locates the Terminal Marítima on Boulevard Francisco Medina Ascencio, at kilometer 4.5 in the Zona Hotelera Norte. For businesses serving the canceled call, the revision removes Friday’s scheduled passenger visit.
The calendar comparison shows October’s first scheduled cruise arrival moving back two days. Sunday’s Celebrity Summit visit is a separate call; the revised document contains no replacement date for Coral Princess.
ASIPONA’s posted arrival procedure requires ship agents to request entry, berthing and port services at least 24 hours before arrival. Port staff then assigns berths and coordinates dock operations.
High surf remains a local concern
In its 9 a.m. Wednesday bulletin, Mexico’s National Meteorological Service forecast waves of 4 to 6 meters along the Jalisco and Colima coasts. The bulletin also warned of heavy rain and strong coastal winds.
Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection maintained red flags Wednesday, citing expected surf of 2 to 3 meters. Its advisory urges residents and visitors to avoid swimming and water sports, and to stay away from rocks and breakwaters. The warning extends the beach restrictions reported Tuesday.
October retains six double-arrival days
ASIPONA’s revised October schedule retains six days with two cruise arrivals. Carnival Radiance and Disney Wonder are listed for Tuesday, Oct. 6. Discovery Princess and Brilliant Lady follow on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The calendar also schedules Koningsdam to arrive at 7 a.m. Oct. 24 and remain overnight at Pier 1. ASIPONA lists its departure for 5 p.m. Oct. 25.
