Ensenada Launches Operation Beaches 2025 to Boost Beach Safety

Operation Beaches 2025 Ensenada mobilizes lifeguards and ambulances at nine beaches to protect visitors with safety measures and watchful rescue teams.

Ensenada’s Fire Department has kicked off Operation Beaches 2025 Ensenada this vacation season to prevent incidents and protect everyone enjoying the city’s coastline. Beginning July 2025, the Aquatic Rescue Division of the Heroic Fire Department of Ensenada will station lifeguards and ambulances at nine key beaches, ensuring continuous surveillance and rapid medical response for visitors.

Lifeguards will maintain constant watch at La Misión, Malpaso, Salina, Playa Hermosa, Conalep, Pacífica, Cactus, Monalisa and Estero beaches. Each site features trained personnel equipped to rescue swimmers in distress, administer first aid and coordinate evacuations when conditions turn hazardous. By focusing resources on these high-traffic spots, the department hopes to reduce drowning risks and keep families safe on the sand.

To bolster pre-hospital care, two fully equipped ambulance units are on standby at Playa La Misión and Playa Hermosa. Both teams include paramedics trained in aquatic rescue protocols. Their proximity to the water means emergency care can begin within minutes of a distress call, cutting critical response times and improving outcomes for serious injuries or medical events.

Operation Beaches 2025 Ensenada runs under the direction of Captain Román Cortez, head of the Aquatic Rescue Division. Captain Cortez oversees daily operations and coordinates with Captain Julio Cesar Cota Molina, director of the Fire Department, and the unit’s operational commanders. “Our goal is simple,” Cortez says. “We want every family, every visitor, to leave our beaches healthy and happy. Vigilance and swift care save lives.”

Beachgoers should follow these safety guidelines to make the most of their visit:

  • Choose supervised beaches—lifeguard zones are the safest areas to swim.
  • Leave disposable plastics at home and bring reusable utensils to cut waste.
  • Wear proper swimwear—avoid jeans or regular shorts which hinder movement in water.
  • Skip alcohol and heavy meals before swimming to maintain alertness.
  • Don’t bring glass bottles—broken glass poses hazards on sand and in surf.
  • On arrival, ask lifeguards which zones have calm conditions and safe depths.
  • Respect beach hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Exiting the water at closing time ensures lifeguards remain available.
  • Follow all instructions from lifeguards and security personnel—flags and signs guide safe times and areas.
  • Keep children in sight at all times—never let them swim unsupervised.
  • Report anyone in trouble immediately to the nearest lifeguard station.
  • Boat users must notify the local Harbor Master’s Office, check weather conditions and carry required safety gear.

By uniting fire department resources, lifeguard expertise and clear visitor guidelines, Operation Beaches 2025 Ensenada aims to set a new standard for coastal safety during Mexico’s busy summer months. Whether you’re diving into gentle waves or simply watching the sunset, this operation ensures help is always close at hand.
