Colima’s creativity fair has a firm weekend and a walkable map. Expo COL Colima runs Friday through Sunday, August 15–17, across the historic center. Spaces include Jardín Libertad, Jardín Torres Quintero, Andador Constitución, and El Beaterio. Streets around them will host activities and vendors.
Expo COL Colima
Organizers describe a family event with themed zones, morning talks, and an afternoon vendor market. The pitch targets new founders as much as weekend strollers. Talks aim to boost competitiveness and formalization. The market gives local brands a direct line to buyers.
The zones cover wide tastes. Expect Gamer, Otaku/Kawaii, Gastronómica, Pets, Ecológica, Kids, Extrema, and Expresión, plus a cultural pavilion with shows and workshops. The idea is to keep people moving and engaged without a ticket price.
What the city says the fair is for
City hall frames the weekend as support for local talent and a stronger entrepreneurship ecosystem. The event links culture and commerce in the same corridors, so families can browse, learn, and buy in one loop. It is a small, local bet with visible returns if the streets stay full.
Who is behind it
The Ayuntamiento de Colima leads the organization under Mayor Riult Rivera Gutiérrez. City offices in economic development and youth programs join the effort, along with culture, sports, ecology, and other teams. Business chambers CANACO, CANIRAC, COPARMEX, and CMIC will also take part.
Why it matters for the center city
A dense, free program brings life to the plazas after a hot, slow stretch. For small brands, foot traffic beats a boosted post. For families, the offer is simple: shows, workshops, food, and games in one place. If the format works, it gives the center a repeatable template for long weekends.
