A public bus crash in Cabo San Lucas left five people injured on Tuesday morning after the unit struck a fixed object in the Gastélum neighborhood.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. on June 9 and brought a response from the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cabo San Lucas, according to the June 9 crash report. Authorities had not released an official cause of the crash by the time early reports were published.
Firefighters said the response was handled by personnel from the operations unit, who arrived to assist the injured. In a statement, the department said it attended to “five people who were injured in the crash against a fixed object.”
Five injured in morning bus crash
The bus was described as a public transport unit that struck a fixed object in the Gastélum area of Cabo San Lucas. Images from the scene showed front-end damage to the vehicle after it struck what local accounts described as a business wall.
A separate local account reported that emergency crews responded to the scene and provided prehospital care to people affected by the crash. The severity of the injuries was not immediately detailed.
Authorities were still reviewing what happened. Early versions circulating on social media suggested the driver may have lost control before the impact, but officials had not confirmed that as the cause.
Investigation continues in Cabo San Lucas
The crash adds to ongoing concerns around road safety and public transportation in Los Cabos, where traffic pressure has grown alongside tourism, commuting, and daily service traffic.
