Figures from the National Seismological Service (SSN) reveal that last January seismic activity in Mexico recorded an unprecedented increase of 92.64 percent over the same month of the last decade.
Last month, 1,124 earthquakes occurred, of which only two had magnitudes equal to or greater than five, while in January 2016, 984 earthquakes were reported, three of them with magnitudes equal to or greater than five.
