Flight information checked at 6:37 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026. All times are local to Puerto Vallarta.
Puerto Vallarta International Airport began Friday’s commercial schedule without a verified delay or cancellation among the morning flights visible on the public boards reviewed.
Aeroméxico flight AM331, the first scheduled departure, left Puerto Vallarta for Mexico City at 5:56 a.m., five minutes before its scheduled time. Viva flight VB1166 left Mexico City at 6:11 a.m. and was estimated to reach PVR at 7:37 a.m., three minutes ahead of schedule. Both were listed as on time.
Those conditions remain a morning snapshot. Airport boards, airline estimates, gates and flight statuses can change throughout the day, particularly as thunderstorms develop around the bay.
Arrival summary
After codeshare listings were removed, the morning and noon PVR arrivals board showed 12 operating flights scheduled between 7:40 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.
Domestic arrivals were scheduled from Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Toluca. The first international arrivals on the board were American Airlines flight AA1114 from Dallas at 10:34 a.m., Southwest flight WN108 from Houston Hobby at 11:05 a.m. and United flight UA1622 from Houston Intercontinental at 11:10 a.m.
Only VB1166 had departed its origin by the 6:37 a.m. check. The remaining flights in the table were still listed according to their scheduled arrival times and should not be treated as confirmed on-time operations.
Departure summary
The morning PVR departures board listed eight operating flights through noon after codeshares were removed. Destinations included Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Dallas and Denver.
AM331 had already departed for Mexico City and was estimated to arrive 13 minutes early. Viva flight VB1167, also bound for Mexico City, remained listed as on time for an 8:35 a.m. departure. Its estimated arrival was six minutes later than the published schedule, but the flight tracker had not classified that difference as a delay.
American Airlines flight AA1114 was listed as on time for its return to Dallas at 11:38 a.m., with no change to its estimated departure or arrival times.
Known delays and cancellations
No commercial flight in the visible morning snapshot carried a confirmed “delayed” or “canceled” status at 6:37 a.m.
This does not establish that every flight scheduled later Friday will operate normally. Most had not yet reached the stage at which an airline would post an actual departure estimate, gate change, or operational delay.
No cancellations were identified among the flights shown on the reviewed morning arrival and departure boards. Travelers should confirm their individual flight through the airline before leaving for the airport.
Weather and operational conditions
Weather is the main operational risk for Friday.
An aviation observation recorded at 4:45 a.m. reported thunderstorm rain at PVR, visibility of six statute miles, and cumulonimbus clouds near the airport. The aviation forecast called for temporary rain and lower cloud cover between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Conditions were expected to improve later in the morning before another thunderstorm period develops between approximately 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The forecast included the possibility of heavy thunderstorms and of visibility falling to 3 miles between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Thunderstorms can temporarily affect runway use, aircraft loading, ground crews and arriving flights even when the airport remains open. No flight disruption had been directly attributed to the weather when this report was checked.

Later-afternoon and evening flights are not included in these early-board tables. Travelers using those services should check the updated official airport flight-information page and their airline’s flight-status service. The airport operator says its flight tool covers scheduled services from two hours before to 24 hours after a search.
Short travel note for readers
Friday afternoon passengers should watch their airline app before leaving for PVR and allow additional time for road traffic, check-in and security. Thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon, but a weather forecast by itself does not confirm that a flight will be delayed or canceled. Check the flight number directly with the airline before changing travel plans.
