Puerto Vallarta Launches Traffic Operation to Improve Road Safety and Flow

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta has announced the activation of a comprehensive traffic operation aimed at enhancing vehicular flow and minimizing accident risks on key city thoroughfares. This initiative, coordinated between the Municipal Transit and State Transit Sub-directorates, reflects ongoing efforts to improve road safety for drivers and pedestrians alike.

The primary objectives of the operation are to expedite traffic along Federal Highway 200 and Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue, two of Puerto Vallarta’s busiest arteries. Additionally, the plan seeks to address congestion at critical intersections known for frequent traffic incidents, ultimately fostering a safer environment for all road users.

The operation will focus on several high-traffic intersections and areas that have been identified as bottlenecks or accident hotspots, including Revolución, Ejército Mexicano, Miguel Barragán, Albatros, Paseo de la Marina, Los Peines, Politécnico Nacional, Galerías, Crucero del Pitillal, Calle Águila, and Avenida Fluvial. These areas are known for their heavy congestion and require increased monitoring to ensure smoother traffic flow.

A total of 20 traffic officers have been deployed to support the operation. This team consists of 12 officers from the Municipal Traffic Sub-directorate and 8 State Traffic Officers. The officers are strategically positioned at the designated intersections to manage traffic, assist pedestrians, and quickly address any issues that may arise, ensuring a consistent and efficient flow of vehicles.

The operation commenced at 12:00 PM and will remain in effect until further notice. The indefinite duration highlights the municipal government’s dedication to maintaining road safety during periods of heightened traffic. As part of this initiative, authorities encourage drivers to cooperate with traffic personnel and adhere to all regulations. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel routes carefully and exercise caution when driving through the targeted areas.

This proactive traffic management strategy underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to creating a safer and more efficient transportation network, which is essential for supporting Puerto Vallarta’s expanding population and thriving tourism industry.
