Jalisco Health Secretariat warns of enterococcal infection at Puerto Vallarta beaches

The Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ) warns of a latent risk of enterococcal infection in the seawater of the Estero El Salado Protected Natural Area and its adjoining beaches in Puerto Vallarta.

Through the Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks of the State (Coprisjal) the population is urged to avoid contact or submersion in this area.

The agency reports that on March 3, a 48-inch pipe that forms part of the Centro-Norte collector in the tourist municipality collapsed.
