Puerto Vallarta’s Vibra Jalisco Zona Fan opens Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for Mexico’s World Cup debut against South Africa, giving the city a public viewing site for the tournament’s opening match.
The fan zone is installed on the Pensiones del Estado property along Francisco Medina Ascencio, near Las Glorias and the Sheraton area. Opening details published Wednesday confirmed paid parking, public restrooms, food and drink options, and a large screen for the match.

Opening day in the Hotel Zone
The confirmation ends a brief period of uncertainty about whether the site would be ready in time. Crews were still working at the location this week, and PVDN previously tracked the question of whether Vallarta’s World Cup fan zone would be ready on time.
The site sits on one of Puerto Vallarta’s busiest north-south corridors, so heavier traffic is possible around Las Glorias before and after the match. Anyone heading through that stretch of Medina Ascencio should allow extra time, especially near hotel entrances and parking access points.
The opening notice said outside food and drinks will not be allowed. The official event listing also says visitors should not bring glass bottles or sharp objects, and recommends arriving early.
Food, parking and entry rules
The official Puerto Vallarta tourism listing describes the event as a “Gran Fiesta del Fútbol frente al Pacífico” and says entry to Vibra Jalisco Zona Fan Puerto Vallarta is free.
The listing says the fan zone will include a giant screen with audio and music, immersive experiences, and a food area with more than 40 stands, with purchases separate. The event is scheduled to run from June 11 through July 19, with 50 matches shown during the tournament.
