Two Cruise Ships Bring Busy May Day to Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta received two cruise ships on Tuesday, marking one of the last double cruise arrival days scheduled for May.

The ships were Navigator of the Seas and Carnival Panorama, both regular visitors to the Mexican Riviera. Their arrival brought added movement to the Maritime Terminal, nearby taxi areas, tour pickups, restaurants, and shops.

The double arrival comes during a lighter month for cruise traffic. The port’s May calendar lists six cruise calls, with two days scheduled for double arrivals.

Navigator of the Seas arrived first

Navigator of the Seas was the first ship to arrive on Tuesday. The 311-meter vessel docked at Pier 2 around 7:00 a.m.

The ship arrived from Mazatlán and was scheduled to continue toward Los Angeles after departing Puerto Vallarta at 6:00 p.m.

Port information listed 3,822 passengers and 1,246 crew members aboard the ship. That placed the total number of people on board at 5,068.

For residents near Marina Vallarta and the Hotel Zone, cruise days can mean more movement around the port. Traffic near the terminal may also feel heavier during arrival and departure windows.

Carnival Panorama followed at Pier 3

Carnival Panorama arrived later in the morning and docked at Pier 3. The ship is one of the more frequent cruise visitors to Puerto Vallarta.

The vessel was scheduled to remain in port until 10:00 p.m., giving passengers a full day in the city. Cruise visitors often use that time for beach visits, food tours, shopping, and excursions outside the central area.

For local businesses, these cruise calls can help fill slower periods between peak tourism waves. They also bring short-term demand for taxis, tour operators, guides, restaurants, and waterfront services.

Final double arrival still ahead this month
