In anticipation of the influx of tourists, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), in collaboration with the state Areas of Protection against Sanitary Risks (APCRS), conducts annual water quality assessments to ensure the safety of the coastal waters across the country.
