Puerto Vallarta (PVDN) – Some residents of Puerto Vallarta woke up to an intense operation by the Municipal Police on Friday, April 14. This was after they received a call from Plaza Caracol, reporting a tall, thin subject dressed in black, acting suspiciously, and carrying a weapon.
Upon arrival, security personnel attempted to stop the suspect, who then tried to flee by boarding a taxi. The taxi driver sped off when he realized that the man was being chased, leaving the subject to run. During his escape, he shot at an element of security and fled in the direction of the Vinoteca, where he got lost in some vacant land located on the Río Amarillo in Versalles.
Puerto Vallarta Municipal Police personnel conducted an intense operation in the area but were unable to locate the suspect. It was only a few minutes later that a citizen who was aware of the situation saw the subject leaving a vacant lot and notified the officers, who once again implemented the search operation.
After almost two hours, the police were finally able to apprehend the suspect in the vicinity of the Marbella residential area on Medina Ascencio. Due to the injuries sustained during the chase, the suspect was reviewed by paramedical personnel from Civil Protection and Firefighters before being made available to the Public Ministry for further investigation.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community safety and the prompt response of local authorities. The Municipal Police in Puerto Vallarta has done an excellent job of ensuring the safety of the community by carrying out an intense operation to apprehend an armed suspect.
