Puerto Vallarta started Wednesday, June 17, with mostly cloudy skies and a warm, humid morning.
According to the early-morning weather reports, conditions were near 26°C (79°F) with humidity around 89%. Local station data showed light winds at around 5 km/h (3 mph), so wind is not expected to be a major issue for most daytime plans.
The day’s high is forecast around 31°C to 32°C, or 88°F to 90°F. The overnight low should remain near 25°C (77°F).
Rain is possible, but today does not look like a full washout. The Weather Network listed a 40% probability of precipitation with less than 1 mm expected. Hour-by-hour data showed the best chance for passing showers from midday into the afternoon, with another small window in the early evening.
Humidity will be the main comfort issue. Even with air temperatures staying near the low 30s Celsius, the heat index could feel like 35°C to 38°C (95°F to 100°F) around midday.
No active weather alert for Puerto Vallarta was listed in the morning weather data reviewed. The National Hurricane Center’s Eastern Pacific outlook, issued Wednesday morning, said tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next seven days.
For beaches, conditions should be checked on-site before entering the water. Light wind reduces the chance of wind-driven chop, but posted beach flags remain the authority, especially near river mouths, jetties, and beaches with steeper breaks. After any rain, avoid swimming near runoff areas until the water clears.
