Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Oct. 5, 2026 — Two cruise ships arrived Oct. 4–5 carrying 4,028 passengers, according to published arrival figures attributed to Puerto Mágico.
The report lists 2,107 passengers and 964 crew aboard Celebrity Summit on Sunday. Monday’s Nieuw Amsterdam carried 1,921 passengers and 857 crew. Together, the ships carried 1,821 crew members.
I checked ASIPONA’s revised October schedule for PVDN. It matches both call dates and lists Nieuw Amsterdam’s Monday departure for 5 p.m.
Port businesses and beach restrictions
ASIPONA, the federal port administrator, lists food, handicrafts, and ground transportation among services offered inside the port. Puerto Mágico places its terminal and shops on Boulevard Francisco Medina Ascencio in the North Hotel Zone.
The passenger figures describe people aboard the ships. They do not establish how many went ashore or how much they spent locally.
Meanwhile, municipal Civil Protection and Firefighters officials said red flags remained across all city beaches, according to a report published Monday. The department urged people to stay out of the sea and follow lifeguards’ instructions.
At Playa de Oro, lifeguards helped merchants move belongings after surf undermined a building’s foundations, the same report said.
October’s revised cruise calendar
The two arrivals followed the cancellation of Coral Princess’s Oct. 2 visit. ASIPONA attributed that cancellation to Pacific weather conditions.
The revised ASIPONA calendar lists 20 October calls, down from the 21 announced before the cancellation. The authority labels its calendar “subject to change.”
For Tuesday, Oct. 6, the calendar schedules Disney Wonder from 6:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Carnival Radiance from 8:50 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 7, has two scheduled calls: Discovery Princess from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Brilliant Lady from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
