Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco— This Thursday marked the first double arrival of cruise ships for the month in Puerto Vallarta, according to the National Port System Administration (Asipona Vallarta). The back-to-back arrivals brought thousands of international tourists to the city and provided a notable boost to local tourism.
The first to dock was the Norwegian Joy, which arrived at Pier 2 at 6:00 a.m. Originating from Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, it brought a total of 3,582 passengers and 1,623 crew members. After its stop in Puerto Vallarta, it is scheduled to depart for Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.
Just a couple of hours later, at 8:45 a.m., the Carnival Panorama arrived from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, docking at Pier 3. Carrying 4,675 passengers and 1,409 crew members, its final destination will be Long Beach in the United States.
Both ships highlighted the city’s role as a key port of call on Mexico’s Pacific coast. “Both cruises represent a great opportunity for our visitors to experience the unique experience that only our port can offer,” Asipona stated, emphasizing that Puerto Vallarta continues to be a premier destination for cruise tourism.
Local tour operators, restaurants, and shops are expected to see increased activity as passengers disembark to explore Puerto Vallarta’s beaches, historic downtown, and vibrant culture. With additional cruise arrivals anticipated throughout the month, city officials and local businesses look forward to showcasing the best of Puerto Vallarta’s hospitality to even more international visitors.
