Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco—August 18, 2024—Puerto Vallarta has recorded an impressive economic impact during the summer season, amounting to approximately 3.5 billion pesos, according to the latest data released by the Trust for the Promotion and Advertising of Tourism (Fidetur). The robust figures underscore the city’s growing appeal as a prime tourist destination, reflecting both domestic and international visitor interest.
According to Fidetur, which operates under the Jalisco Tourism Secretariat (Secturjal), nearly 240,000 tourists have flocked to Puerto Vallarta during the current holiday period. This influx of visitors has led to an average individual expenditure of 14,620 pesos, contributing significantly to the city’s economic vitality.
Tourist Demographics: A Diverse Mix of Visitors
Of the total number of tourists who arrived in Puerto Vallarta this summer, a substantial 71.5 percent were domestic travelers from various states across the Mexican Republic.
