PUERTO VALLARTA, Jalisco — Puerto Vallarta International Airport listed 39 arrivals and 39 departures for Friday, September 4. Vallarta Daily checked the arrival board and departure board at 7:00 a.m. local time, after removing partner codeshares from the count.
No cancellations were posted. The airport’s overall delay indicator was very low, while FlightAware’s PVR tracker listed zero cancellations during the previous 24 hours.
The only confirmed late arrival was Aeroméxico AM58 from Mexico City. The flight reached the PVR gate at 12:37 a.m., 17 minutes behind schedule. Its continuation to Tokyo Narita left the gate at 1:40 a.m. and was classified on time.
Aeroméxico AM331, the first regular morning departure, left its gate for Mexico City at 6:21 a.m., five minutes early.
Weather is the main concern for later flights. The aviation forecast displayed on the PVR weather and operations page called for a temporary period of thunderstorms and rain from about 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with visibility potentially falling to four miles. The 5:45 a.m. airport observation reported light northerly wind and eight-mile visibility, with no rain or thunder at the airport.
Those conditions do not mean evening flights will be delayed. They identify the period when airlines may need to adjust arrival spacing, departure sequencing, or ground operations if storms move across the airport.
A public-data conflict affected Viva’s Toluca rotation. FlightStats displayed a delay of nearly 17 hours for inbound VB9144 and outbound VB9145 (Viva VB 9144 Flight Tracker). A direct check of Viva’s flight-status page showed both flights on time at their original schedules: VB9144 arriving at 12:09 p.m. and VB9145 departing at 12:55 p.m. FlightAware also placed the rotation around midday.
Vallarta Daily therefore does not count either Toluca flight as a verified delay. Passengers booked on VB9144 or VB9145 should check directly with Viva because some third-party trackers may continue to display the conflicting estimate.
Houston is a secondary watch point for connecting passengers. The IAH delay indicator was very low but increasing, and its Friday forecast included a 50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms (flightstats.com). No schedule change had been posted for PVR’s United flights when this report was checked.
