Residents of Puerto Vallarta should monitor storm, says weather service

Tropical Depression Twenty-E has formed in the eastern Pacific about 250 miles southeast of Puerto Escondido, Mexico. This system is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Patricia later Tuesday, and possibly a hurricane later Wednesday or Thursday.

Future Patricia will move parallel to Mexico's Pacific coast before eventually curling northeast towards the west-central Mexico coast where landfall is expected later Friday into Saturday. Residents and visitors in the Mexico resort cities of Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo and Acapulco should monitor the progress of this system very closely.
