Tropical Storm Kay becomes eleventh Pacific storm of 2016

Tropical Storm Kay has formed in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico.

The storm's maximum sustained winds early Friday are near 40 mph (65 kph) with no significant change in strength expected during the next day or so.

Tropical Storm Kay is centered about 315 miles (510 kilometers) south-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is moving northwest near 7 mph (11 kph).
