In one of the shootings, two police were killed and another injured in the state of Zacatecas before the violence spilled into the state of Jalisco.
The clashes are due to the reinforcement of security, declared last Wednesday, according to the coordinator of the Security Cabinet, Ricardo Sánchez Beruben, who assured that over-vigilance is verified on the borders with Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and Zacatecas.
The official acknowledged that on the border between Jalisco and Zacatecas, security was reinforced after the assassination of General José Silvestre Urzúa Padilla, coordinator of the National Guard in that entity, “as a result of this, those bordering areas have been reinforced with operational personnel to avoid that the displacement of criminals from the State of Zacatecas to the state of Jalisco is generated and is one of the best ways to deal with the issue of violence caused by organized crime “
He affirmed that violence has decreased in areas such as Teocaltiche.
