A 2-Meter-Long Crocodile Captured Near Bahía Del Sol Hotel in Nuevo Nayarit

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A crocodile measuring over two meters in length was successfully captured by local authorities in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas and relocated to a secure area. This incident was swiftly addressed following an emergency report to 911, highlighting the presence of the reptile in a popular beach zone near the Bahía Del Sol Hotel in Nuevo Nayarit.

The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Nayarit reported that the emergency call mobilized elements of Citizen Protection and Firefighters of Nayarit, who promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the sizable crocodile in close proximity to areas frequented by both tourists and locals, posing a potential threat.

The fire brigade executed the capture operation with precision, utilizing specialized ropes to immobilize the animal. This approach ensured the safety of both the crocodile and the public. The entire operation took approximately 45 minutes, during which security measures were strictly enforced to maintain a safe distance between onlookers and the animal.

Following its immobilization, the crocodile was transported to the State Fire Department base. Here, a biologist from the corporation will conduct a thorough health assessment of the reptile. The next steps involve following established protocols to ensure its safe release into a natural habitat that is suitably distant from human populations.
