Puerto Vallarta Prepares for the 6th Annual Mango Festival

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The vibrant city of Puerto Vallarta is set to host the 6th Annual Mango Festival on July 20 at the picturesque Lázaro Cárdenas Plaza. Organized by the Puerto Vallarta-Highland Park Sister Cities Committee and supported by the municipal government led by interim mayor Francisco José Martínez Gil, this year’s festival promises to be a delightful celebration with a cause.

A Festival with a Purpose

In a press conference held on Thursday, Christian Preciado Cázares, the director of Tourism and Economic Development, highlighted the significance of this event in the city’s diverse array of activities. “This festival contributes significantly to the wide range of activities offered by our city, having on this occasion the mango as its protagonist,” said Preciado Cázares. Attendees will be treated to a variety of delectable dishes, drinks, and desserts, all featuring the beloved mango, a staple fruit of the region.

Schedule of Events

The festival will kick off at 11:00 AM and continue until 8:00 PM, offering a full day of family-friendly entertainment and culinary delights. Eduardo Martínez Martínez, vice president of the Puerto Vallarta-Highland Park Sister Cities Committee, expressed gratitude to the municipal government for its support in organizing the event. “The festival will be held at Lázaro Cárdenas Park, starting at 11 in the morning. It is an event with a cause; our brothers from Highland Park have several projects there, and we want to support them in spreading the word and for everyone to go and enjoy the various gastronomic attractions that they make with mango and of course we will delight ourselves with the best gastronomy, some cocktails too,” Martínez Martínez said.

Culinary Delights and Entertainment

Visitors can expect a variety of mango-based culinary creations, from savory dishes to sweet treats and refreshing beverages. In addition to the gastronomic offerings, the festival will feature performances by local artists, charro tricks, a show by Papos y su Pandilla, and an exciting wrestling match. Juan Pablo Vázquez Balleza, also known as ‘Papos’, and Manuel López from Producciones Demonio Blanco shared their excitement about their participation in the festival. At 2:00 PM, attendees can enjoy the lively show of Papos and his Gang, followed by a thrilling wrestling match at 4:00 PM.

Supporting a Noble Cause

This year’s festival has a special purpose beyond celebration and entertainment. All funds raised during the event will go towards the construction of the House of Culture in the Los Llanitos neighborhood of Ixtapa. Entry to the festival is free, and attendees can purchase tickets for 40 pesos each, which can be exchanged at various stands for the products of their choice. “We want to provide a space for family recreation and togetherness,” said Martínez Martínez, emphasizing the community-oriented nature of the event.

A Warm Welcome

The Mango Festival is not only a celebration of one of the region’s most cherished fruits but also an opportunity for the community to come together for a greater cause. With the support of the municipal government and the collaborative efforts of the Puerto Vallarta-Highland Park Sister Cities Committee, the festival is poised to be a memorable event for both locals and visitors.

As Puerto Vallarta gears up for this exciting event, the city invites everyone to join in the festivities, enjoy the culinary delights, and contribute to a meaningful cause. The Mango Festival is a testament to the city’s vibrant culture, community spirit, and commitment to supporting local projects that enhance the quality of life for its residents.
