Puerto Vallarta starts hot, with clouds building later
Puerto Vallarta weather on Saturday, May 30, is expected to stay mostly sunny through the morning before clouds increase during the afternoon, with temperatures reaching about 33°C, or 92°F, according to the day’s hourly forecast.
The forecast shows a sunny morning, with temperatures rising from about 26°C (79°F) at 7 a.m. to 32°C (90°F) by late morning. Around midday, the temperature is expected to reach 33°C (92°F) before clouds begin to build over the city.
By midafternoon, the outlook shifts from mostly sunny to mostly cloudy, with temperatures still near 32°C (89°F). The evening forecast remains warm, with readings near 29°C (84°F) at 8 p.m. and about 27°C (80°F) late Saturday night.
Jalisco remains inside a broader heat and rain pattern
The local forecast is calmer than the statewide picture. Mexico’s Servicio Meteorológico Nacional listed Jalisco among states with “intervals of showers,” a category used for scattered showers of 5 to 25 millimeters, or about 0.2 to 1 inch.
The same national outlook placed central, southern, and southwestern Jalisco in a zone where maximum temperatures could reach 40°C to 45°C, or 104°F to 113°F, although Puerto Vallarta’s immediate forecast is lower than that inland and regional range.
That split is common in late May. Coastal Puerto Vallarta can have a more moderate air temperature than inland parts of Jalisco, yet still feels oppressive due to humidity, sun exposure, and pavement heat. The forecast does not show a cool day. It shows a hot coastal day with some afternoon cloud cover.
Tropical outlook stays offshore for now
The National Hurricane Center said at 5 a.m. In the Pacific, a broad low-pressure area is expected to form early next week, well southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Its seven-day formation chance was listed as 80 percent, while the 48-hour formation chance was near zero.
The outlook does not place a current tropical cyclone near Puerto Vallarta. It does, however, keep attention on the eastern Pacific as June approaches and the coast moves deeper into the 2026 Pacific cyclone season. Earlier local coverage has noted the season’s above-normal risk and the need to follow official forecasts as systems form offshore.
For Saturday, the more immediate weather issue is still heat. The hourly forecast keeps Puerto Vallarta near or above 30°C (86°F) from midmorning through early evening. Clouds may reduce direct sun at times, but they do not remove the heat already built into the day.
