Puerto Vallarta Weather Today – July 14, 2026

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 14, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta began Tuesday with some clouds, high humidity, and a temperature near 25°C (77°F) as of 6:20 a.m. local time.

The temperature is forecast to climb to about 34°C (94°F) this afternoon. The overnight low should remain near 25°C (77°F). A few showers are possible early, but the main chance for thunderstorms develops later in the day.

No tropical cyclone was active in the eastern Pacific as of the National Hurricane Center’s 5 a.m. PDT update, issued at 6 a.m. Puerto Vallarta time.

Rain and Thunderstorm Timing

Rain is not expected to continue throughout the day. The broad daily forecast indicates a 60% chance of rain, with scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.

The hourly forecast keeps most of the late morning and early afternoon dry, then increases the risk of thunderstorms between about 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Showers could continue into the evening.

Storm coverage can vary sharply across the bay. Some neighborhoods may receive heavy rain while others remain dry.

Heat and Humidity

Humidity was near 80% early Tuesday and should remain noticeable through the morning. By early afternoon, the temperature may feel closer to 39°C (103°F), even though the air temperature will be several degrees lower.

People working outside or walking longer distances should plan for the strongest heat from late morning through midafternoon. Water, shade and indoor breaks will be useful during that period.

Wind, Surf and Beach Conditions

Winds should remain generally light, becoming westerly at about 8 to 16 km/h (5 to 10 mph) during the day. Stronger and less predictable gusts are possible near thunderstorms.

The Puerto Vallarta surf forecast calls for relatively low waves of about 0.2 to 0.3 meters, or roughly 8 inches to 1 foot. Local beach flags and lifeguard instructions should still take priority, as currents and water conditions can vary by beach.

Anyone on the beach should leave the water when thunder is heard, even when rain has not yet reached the shoreline.

Best Time for Outdoor Plans

The morning offers the better window for errands, beach time and outdoor work, although the heat will build quickly. Keep a rain plan available from midafternoon onward.

Drivers should use caution if a strong storm develops. Brief downpours can reduce visibility and produce standing water on low-lying or poorly drained streets. Conditions can change during the day, especially around the mountains and southern areas of the bay.
