Puerto Vallarta Weather Today – July 19, 2026

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 19, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta began Sunday under mostly cloudy skies, with a temperature near 26°C (78°F) at 6:35 a.m. local time. Conditions can change through the day.

Temperatures are forecast to climb to about 33°C (91–92°F) during the early afternoon. Humidity will make it feel warmer, with an apparent temperature near 35°C (95°F) around midday.

Rain is not expected to continue throughout the day. The main thunderstorm window is from midafternoon into the evening, with the hourly forecast showing storm development around 2–3 p.m. One forecast places the afternoon rain chance near 57%.

Afternoon Heat and Rain Timing

The morning should remain mostly to partly cloudy, with temperatures rising above 29°C (85°F) by 9 a.m. and reaching 32°C (90°F) around noon.

Thunderstorms become possible during the hottest part of the day. Rain coverage may be uneven across the bay, so one neighborhood could receive a downpour while another remains cloudy or dry.

Any stronger storm could bring lightning, reduced visibility, and temporary ponding on streets. Drivers should slow down during heavy rain and avoid entering water where the depth or road surface cannot be seen.

Wind, Beaches and Marine Conditions

Winds should remain light for most of Sunday. Forecasts indicate sustained speeds generally below 10 km/h (6 mph), with gusts potentially reaching about 17 km/h (11 mph).

The greatest beach concern is lightning from an afternoon storm rather than a prolonged wind event. Beachgoers should follow lifeguard flags and leave the water when thunder is heard. Updated local conditions may be posted through Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection.

Tropical Storm Elida is not a direct threat to Puerto Vallarta. A 2 a.m. tropical advisory placed the storm about 1,585 kilometers (985 miles) west of the southern tip of Baja California, with no coastal watches or warnings in effect. Its reported surf effects were aimed at western Baja California and Southern California.

Boat operators and fishing tours should still check the federal port operating-status map before departure because local restrictions can change as storms develop.

Best Window for Outdoor Plans

Morning and late-morning hours offer the more reliable window for beach visits, errands and outdoor activities. By midday, limit prolonged exposure to the heat, drink water regularly, and seek shade during extended walks.

Carry rain protection for afternoon plans and keep outdoor schedules flexible after 2 p.m. Storm timing and coverage may change as new radar and satellite data become available.
