Puerto Vallarta Weather Today – July 6, 2026

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 6, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta is starting Monday cloudy, humid, and warm, with current conditions at 26°C / 78°F as of 6:21 a.m. local time. A light east wind is reported at near 5 km/h (3 mph), with humidity at 94%, making the morning feel warmer than the thermometer suggests.

The forecast high is near 35°C / 95°F, with the hottest stretch expected from late morning through the afternoon. Conditions can change quickly during rainy season, especially once cloud buildup begins over the mountains and bay.

0Current Conditions in Puerto Vallarta

As of the morning update, Puerto Vallarta is under cloudy skies with limited wind and high humidity. AccuWeather lists the current “RealFeel” at 32°C / 90°F, with cloud cover around 91% and visibility near 8 km / 5 miles.

The heat will be more noticeable later in the day. The forecast puts the afternoon “RealFeel” near 44°C / 111°F, with shade conditions still feeling close to 40°C / 104°F. Anyone walking the Malecón, working outdoors, waiting for buses, or visiting the beach should plan around the midday heat.

Rain Chance and Timing

Today does not look like an all-day rain event, but showers are possible later. AccuWeather gives Puerto Vallarta a 58% chance of precipitation during the day and a 55% chance tonight, with “a bit of rain this afternoon” and a stray evening thunderstorm in the forecast.

The Met Office hourly forecast shows the chance of rain rising after midday, with 30% around noon, 60% around 3 p.m., 40% around 6 p.m., and 30% by 9 p.m.

For planning, the main window to watch is mid-afternoon through evening. Brief rain can still slow traffic on low-lying streets, near river crossings, and in areas where storm drains back up during heavier bursts.

Wind, Surf, and Beach Conditions

Winds are light this morning, but afternoon winds are forecast from the northwest near 10 km/h / 6 mph, with gusts up to about 26 km/h / 16 mph.

Beach and boat conditions deserve attention today. The Mexican Navy marine forecast reports a new mar de fondo event developing Monday, with a swell of 1.8 to 2.4 meters (6 to 8 feet), long-period waves, and rip currents along the Pacific coast from Chiapas to Sinaloa, including the Jalisco coast.

Beachgoers should follow lifeguard instructions and beach flags. Small-craft operators, paddleboarders, and tour passengers should confirm conditions directly with providers before heading out, especially outside the bay’s protected areas.

Storm and Flooding Risk

The National Hurricane Center reported Monday morning that tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the eastern and central North Pacific during the next seven days.

That does not remove normal rainy-season risks. The Navy forecast also notes local storms over parts of the Mexican Pacific that can bring showers, strong wind gusts, elevated surf, lightning, and reduced visibility. Jalisco is included in the forecast area for showers and stronger local storms.

Best Window for Outdoor Plans

Morning is the better window for errands, beach walks, and outdoor work before the heat builds. Carry water, use sun protection, and plan shaded breaks if you will be out around midday.

For afternoon and evening plans, keep an umbrella or light rain jacket nearby and allow extra time for traffic if showers develop. Conditions can shift quickly in Puerto Vallarta during the rainy season, so check the latest local updates before making beach-, bay-, or road-sensitive plans.
