Puerto Vallarta Weather Today – July 8, 2026

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 8, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta started Wednesday cloudy at 6:18 a.m. local time, with current conditions near 26°C (78°F). The day’s forecast calls for considerable cloudiness, a high near 33°C (92°F), a low near 25°C (77°F), and light rain most likely this afternoon.

Morning Conditions in Puerto Vallarta

The morning is warm and humid, but the stronger weather signal is later in the day. Forecast models show rain chances staying low through the morning, then rising after midday, with the best chance from mid- to late afternoon.

AccuWeather lists a 70% chance of daytime precipitation in Puerto Vallarta today, with about 1.5 hours of rain possible. Its hourly forecast keeps rain chances mostly in single digits through late morning, then raises them to about 25% around 1–2 p.m., 31% around 3 p.m., and near 50% by 4–5 p.m.

Heat, Humidity, and Wind

The air will feel hotter than the thermometer. AccuWeather’s RealFeel forecast reaches about 41°C (105°F), with a shaded RealFeel near 36°C (97°F). That makes hydration, shade, and lighter outdoor plans more important during the early afternoon, especially away from the ocean breeze.

Wind in the city forecast is light, near 8 km/h (5 mph), but marine conditions need more caution than the street-level wind suggests. The Secretaría de Marina’s Pacific marine outlook warned of mar de fondo along much of Mexico’s Pacific coast, including the Jalisco coastal region, with swell of 1.8 to 2.4 meters (6 to 8 feet) and return-current risk.

Beach, Port, and Road Notes

Beachgoers should check posted flags before entering the water, especially at open-water beaches and areas where currents are stronger after rain or swell. Small boats, paddleboards, and water taxis should follow local port and captaincy guidance, since marine conditions can change faster than the city forecast.

The National Hurricane Center reported at 5 a.m. Pacific time that there were no active tropical cyclones in the Eastern Pacific. That does not rule out local afternoon thunderstorms, lightning, or brief heavy rain near the bay and mountain areas.

If showers develop later today, the practical road concern is short-lived ponding and slower traffic in low-lying or poor-drainage areas. Drivers should use extra care on hillside roads, river crossings, and streets that commonly collect runoff during rainy-season downpours.

Best Window for Errands and Outdoor Plans

The best planning window is the morning through early afternoon. Keep beach plans flexible after lunch, carry rain protection if you will be out late in the day, and check updated conditions before booking water activities. This is a routine rainy-season forecast, but conditions can change quickly in Puerto Vallarta during July.
