Puerto Vallarta Weather Today – June 12, 2026

Puerto Vallarta starts Friday, June 12, with warm, very humid air, mostly cloudy skies, and rain becoming more likely as the day progresses.

At 6:30 a.m. Mexico City time, current weather observations for Puerto Vallarta showed 25°C / 77°F, with humidity near 94% and very light wind near 3 to 6 km/h / 2 to 4 mph. The apparent temperature was running higher, near 31°C / 88°F, because of the humidity.

The forecast high is near 29°C to 30°C / 85°F, with an overnight low near 24°C / 76°F. Rain chances begin to rise late in the morning, with showers possible around 11 a.m., followed by a wetter window from early afternoon into the evening. The most likely rain period appears to be from about 1 p.m. through 8 p.m., though timing can shift quickly around the bay.

This is a rainy-season pattern, not a confirmed emergency. Still, afternoon downpours can cause short-term street flooding in low-lying areas, near river mouths, and around construction zones or on streets with poor drainage. Drivers should avoid standing water and allow extra time if rain is falling during the afternoon commute.

Beach and boat plans need a second check before departure. SEMAR’s Pacific marine forecast, issued Thursday, warned that troughs and tropical waves could produce local storms, wind gusts, elevated surf, lightning, and reduced visibility along parts of Mexico’s Pacific coast. For Nayarit, Jalisco, and Colima, the marine forecast included showers, locally strong storms, and electrical activity. It also called for 1.5 to 2.1 meters / 5 to 7 feet of surf along a broad stretch of the Pacific coast.

No Puerto Vallarta-specific port closure was confirmed in the official sources checked for this morning update. Conditions at sea and beach flags can change during the day, so boat operators, tour passengers, swimmers, and paddleboarders should follow the instructions of the Capitanía de Puerto and lifeguards.

The best time to plan is in the morning, especially for errands, beach walks, and outdoor work. Keep an umbrella or light rain jacket handy after late morning, move indoor plans earlier if thunder develops, and leave the water immediately if lightning is seen or heard.
